HER LIFE OF A THOUSAND AND ONE JOURNEYS

At the age of 17, Marie-Hélène de Taillac had already planned to study gemology in New York. In order to make her plans a reality, she left for London to learn English. For nearly fifteen years, she worked in London with renowned designers.
She notably worked for the costume jewelry brand Butler & Wilson, then for the designer Dinny Hall. Her experiences led her to take her first steps in the world of fashion, and more particularly in haute couture, with Victor Edelstein and Philip Treacy. She then decided to return to her first passion: stones and color.
Her trip to Jaipur in 1989 - which would later become her adopted city - was decisive in the history of her brand. Indeed, the defining moment was meeting some of the best artisans from all over India whose traditional methods date back to the time of the maharajas. It was there that Marie-Hélène de Taillac found what she was looking for: exceptional gems and authentic know-how. In 1995, she embarked on the crazy adventure of entrepreneurship by launching her brand without being afraid to leave everything behind. Marie-Hélène de Taillac is not afraid to leave her comfort zone to make her dreams come true.
This entrepreneurial adventure is above all made of encounters. She got in touch with her mentor, Munnu Kasliwal, one of the former owners of the Gem Palace - the most famous jewelry store in Jaipur which is a real local institution as it became the official supplier to the royal family.
