The earrings
The very first jewelry I made were earrings.
A new collection often starts with earrings.
They are my consolation, my guilty pleasure, what I always come back to.
If my work goes in complicated directions or hits a dead end, if I'm disappointed with a piece or a series, if the studio is a mess or if I'm not sure where I'm going, I make earrings.
I love the time spent searching for symmetry, exploring my boxes for the fragment that will match in shape, color and weight the one I already have. I love the challenge of balancing these two little mobiles that will swing in your ears. Happily.
And I like to think that the joy, which runs through their making, shines through and makes them joyful to wear.
Necklaces
A modern version of the daisy necklace, these poetic litanies, both modest and spontaneous, bold and yet delicate, tell luminous stories of childhood and unlikely encounters.
Precious / not precious treasures, profane rosaries for the 21st century.
Beware: when you wear them, complete strangers may smile at you or start talking to you, and children may want to follow you down the street.
